Sign Up Procedure

 

Create HPCVL Account Using
Compute Canada Credentials

  1. If You Are An Academic User...
    1. Users must first register with Compute Canada. You need the CC credentials for your HPCVL account application.
    2. If you are creating a new Research Group, please choose Faculty as your position. If you are a member of an existing Research Group, you will need your Principal Investigator's Compute Canada Role Identifier (CCRI).
    3. Once Registered and Logged into the Compute Canada site, you may proceed with creating your HPCVL Account by clicking on the Link or Apply for Consortium Account at the bottom of the My Account page then click on Apply next to HPCVL.
    4. Alternatively, go to the HPCVL Signup page directly and enter your Compute Canada credentials and complete the forms accordingly.
    5. The HPCVL Account form should be pre-loaded with your information. Please fill in any missing fields and hit submit.


  2. If You Are An Non-Academic User...
    1. Go to the HPCVL Signup page directly and complete the forms accordingly.


  3. All Users
    1. All Users must read all policy documents.
    2. Print and fill out the Access Agreement document and fax or mail it to HPCVL
    3. Print and fill out any Licensing Statements for software packages that you will be using. Check the software faqs for futher information
  4. Upon approval and receipt of a signed Access Agreement Policy, your account will be activated.
  5. The activation of your account typically takes a business day or two.
  6. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of our User Support personnel.

Once you have received your account information from HPCVL, you can proceed with using the HPCVL systems.


Link Existing HPCVL Account to
Compute Canada Identifier

  1. In order for your existing HPCVL account to be associated with your new Compute Canada credentials (see Step 1 above), users must log into Compute Canada and click on the Link or Apply for Consortium Account at the bottom of the My Account page then click on Link next to HPCVL.
  2. Your Compute Canada Credentials should be passed to the form and verified. Please enter your pre-existing HPCVL Username and Web Password and hit submit. This now ties your HPCVL account to your Compute Canada Identifier.
  3. Alternatively, go to the HPCVL Link Account page directly and enter your Compute Canada credentials and complete the forms accordingly.
